Spring into action this April!

What a crazy few days we have had to kick start April. Here in Suffolk we have had a week full of glorious sunny spells, bitterly cold winds, snow storms and rain showers! It has certainly made the Easter holidays interesting, with our rucksacks full to the brim to cover all eventualities on those local hikes!

We hope you all had a lovely Easter weekend and it was full of chocolatey surprises! We certainly overindulged this end and our cupboards (as well as our tummies!) look to be bulging with eggs for the foreseeable future! To balance out the naughty treats, we hope your greenhouse is fully stocked with all the good stuff. It’s not too late to sow chillies, tomatoes and aubergines. Now is the time to harvest those delicious spring onions, spring cabbages, radishes,  asparagus and purple sprouting broccoli. If you’ve forced your rhubarb, the stems may now be ready to gently harvest.  Let’s be honest, you really can’t beat a home-made rhubarb crumble!

As 12th April has finally arrived and the never ending lockdown will slowly release us back into the real world, it is safe to say that our shaggy long locks and the nation’s hairdressers will be breathing a sigh of relief and we can practically taste the deliciously chilled beer from the local pub garden already! There is a lovely air of positivity flowing around at the moment as a little freedom is looming, but it is without doubt that we will all look back at this last year and appreciate our lovely gardens, those wonderful family walks and moments of calmness more than ever. There are 3 million more gardeners as a result, so it certainly hasn’t been all bad news has it?!

Speaking of more gardeners, we would just like to thank every single one of you for your patience and cooperation during this last year. Our greenhouses have been flying off the shelves quicker than we can fill them and we have also had to deal with huge changes and delays due to Brexit this year. We really hope as the year goes on that we can get back to some kind of normality and make sure you all have the greenhouse you have been eagerly anticipating.

Have a wonderful April one and all!
